Adeola Kicks Off Ogun 2027 Stakeholders’ Meetings in Ewekoro, Pledges Roads, Health Centres

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, on Monday began a statewide stakeholders’ town hall meeting in Ewekoro Local Government Area, pledging to address critical road and health challenges in the council if elected in 2027.

The meeting, held in Itori, was attended by electorate, the Council of Baales, Community Development Committee leaders and members, artisans, market women and youths. Adeola said the forum was meant to get feedback on his representation and interact with residents on areas of need and implementable solutions for Ogun State.

“You are not only the electorate, you are equally important stakeholders. I am standing before you today to assure you that my administration will deliver goodies of democracy to Ewekoro, if I am given the mandate to govern the state next year,” Adeola said.

He said that as senator representing Ogun West, he had facilitated various projects to Ewekoro and promised to work for the socio-economic development of the local government if elected governor.

Adeola said over 900 infrastructure projects had been facilitated and completed across Ogun State, including roads, school buildings, ICT centres, health facilities, markets, police stations and solar lights. In Ewekoro, he listed completed projects to include the ultra-modern market at Obada-Oko, rehabilitation of Papalanto-Oteyi Road, renovation of Obada-Oko Primary Health Centre, and solar borehole and solar lights at Obada Market.

He said ongoing projects in the area include Iyana Complex Junction road, Obada Central Community road, Wasimi ultra-modern market, blocks of 12 classrooms at Government Technical College Ajegunle and Itori Comprehensive High School, and a mini-grid at Obada-Oko General Hospital.

The APC candidate said he was aware of challenges on Old Ilaro Road, Ejio Road, Afowowa-Sogade Road and Pateleri Road, as well as the need for a health centre at Abalabi, assuring that they would be addressed.

He urged residents to vote massively for APC candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Senator Shuaib Salis, Ogun Central; Adijat Adeleye, House of Representatives candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency; and Biodun Adeleye, House of Assembly candidate for Ewekoro State Constituency.

Adeola said a solid foundation had been laid for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, citing claims that inflation dropped from 34.8 per cent in 2024 to 14.6 per cent in September 2026, debt service-to-revenue ratio fell from 97 per cent to below 50 per cent, external reserves rose to $58.8 billion in October 2026, and a $7 billion forex backlog was cleared. He also cited the payment of a N750 billion 17-year pension backlog, NELFUND benefiting over 1.5 million students with N300 billion, and disbursement of N250,000 each to over 8 million NIN and BVN-verified households.

He said Ogun State was a major beneficiary of the Renewed Hope Agenda, citing the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Badagry-Sokoto Super Highway, Sagamu-Benin Expressway reconstruction with solar lights, and the South-West regional headquarters of the National Food Bank under First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative.

Adeola commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for completing over 1,700 kilometres of roads, 3,640 housing units, the Gateway International Cargo Airport at Iperu, and the $7 billion MOU for the Gateway Deep Sea Port at Ogun Waterside with inland dry ports at Ijebu-Ode and Abeokuta.

Giving his Senate scorecard, Adeola said he had sponsored 15 bills and four motions as Chairman of Appropriations and Vice Chairman of National Security and Intelligence, and member of 11 other committees. He said his bill upgrading Federal Polytechnic Ilaro to University of Technology Ilaro had been signed into law, while his ICAN Act amendment bill had passed public hearing.

He also said his Scholarship and Bursary Board had benefited about 10,000 indigent brilliant students with N100,000 to N200,000 each, while over 20,000 market women and men had received N50,000 to N75,000 cash grants across the state, including beneficiaries from Ewekoro.

Adeola said he would continue effective representation till May 29, 2027, and would faithfully implement his 9-Pillar ITESIWAJU Agenda if elected.

Earlier, the Director-General of the Ogun APC Campaign Council, Senator Lekan Mustapha, said the meeting was organised to enable the governorship candidate to interact directly with the electorate and key stakeholders in Ewekoro LG.

The council chairman, Sikiru Adesina, said kick-starting the stakeholders’ meeting from Ewekoro was a testament to Adeola’s love for the people of the council, and applauded his interventions in roads, classrooms, markets, solar-powered lighting and water boreholes.

Dignitaries at the event included Ogun State Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele; Ogun APC Chairman Chief Yemi Sanusi; APC Deputy Governorship Candidate Alhaja Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun; Senator Lekan Mustapha; Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu; Hon. Isiaka Adekunle, House of Representatives Deputy Whip; Hon.
