Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment to Nigeria’s Development, Seeks Wisdom and Resilience During Umrah

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to national development, economic prosperity and investment in the future of young Nigerians, declaring that his determination to build a greater Nigeria has been further strengthened by his recent spiritual journey to Saudi Arabia.
The President made this known on Monday, November 2, 2026, while reflecting on his Umrah pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he was granted the rare privilege of entering the Holy Ka’abah in Makkah to offer prayers alongside members of his Nigerian delegation.
President Tinubu expressed profound gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for granting him and members of his delegation access to the sacred site.
Describing the experience as historic and deeply cherished, the President said the opportunity reinforced the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
While praying inside the Ka’abah, President Tinubu said he asked Almighty Allah for wisdom and resilience to continue serving Nigerians, expressing confidence that his prayers had been answered.
“I asked for wisdom and resilience to continue to serve the people. I know that prayer has been granted,” he said.
The President also reflected on the teachings of Surah Aal-Imran, Verse 26 of the Holy Qur’an, which emphasises that all sovereignty, power and authority belong to Almighty Allah, who gives and takes them according to His will.
He noted that leadership is a divine trust that must be exercised with humility, responsibility and a genuine commitment to the welfare of the people.
Reaffirming his commitment to national development, Tinubu declared that his determination to advance Project Nigeria had become even stronger.
“My commitment to Project Nigeria is higher. I am determined to usher in prosperity and fully develop the country, consistent with the wish of Allah and the support of the people,” he stated.
On the economy, the President expressed optimism about the progress recorded under his administration, describing the country’s economic foundation as solid and Nigeria’s emergence from a difficult period as encouraging.
“The foundation is solid, and the economy has come out of the dark tunnel. This is inspiring,” he said.
He further stressed the importance of investing in young Nigerians, noting that the decisions taken by present-day leaders would determine how future generations remember them.
According to him, building a prosperous nation requires deliberate investment in the future of young people, expanding opportunities and creating an environment where Nigerians can achieve their full potential.
The President also expressed appreciation to Almighty Allah for the privilege of leading Nigeria, describing his emergence as President and Commander-in-Chief among millions of Nigerians as a special blessing that must be justified through purposeful leadership and dedicated service.
Meanwhile, members of the Nigerian delegation, including Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate; and governors of Borno, Sokoto, Jigawa, Kaduna, Yobe and Kwara States, reportedly expressed deep gratitude to Almighty Allah for the opportunity to enter the Holy Ka’abah and pray alongside the President.
Other members of the delegation, including Chairman of BUA Group, Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, and Oando Chief Executive Officer, Wale Tinubu, also expressed appreciation for the rare spiritual experience.
President Tinubu’s reflections underscore his renewed resolve to pursue national prosperity, strengthen Nigeria’s economic foundations, expand opportunities for young people and ensure that his administration’s policies translate into lasting development for the country.
