Senator Tolu Odebiyi Denies Alleged NDC Senate Ambition, Reaffirms Loyalty to APC

A former lawmaker and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Tolu Odebiyi, CON, has dismissed claims linking him to the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) and speculations that he intends to contest for a senatorial seat on the platform of the party.

In a statement issued on Friday, Odebiyi described the reports as false, baseless, and misleading, accusing some individuals of using his name to promote the political party without his consent.

The former senator stated that he has never been a member of the NDC and has no intention of joining the party or contesting any election under its platform.

According to him, his political history and personal convictions make such claims untenable, noting that he remains committed to the progressive ideals of the APC, a party he said has deep historical significance to him and his family.

Odebiyi further revealed that he had, in the past, received invitations to join other political parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Allied Peoples Movement (APM), but consistently rejected all such overtures.

He therefore called on the leadership, members, and supporters of the NDC to immediately stop associating his name with the party or using it for political promotion.

“I have never been, and I am not, a member of the NDC,” he stated, reiterating his unwavering loyalty to the APC.

The former lawmaker also reaffirmed his commitment to the APC’s political objectives ahead of future elections, expressing support for the emergence of his preferred candidate as the next Governor of Ogun State, as well as the re-election efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He urged members of the public to disregard what he described as false claims and political propaganda aimed at creating confusion about his political affiliation.

Odebiyi maintained that he remains a loyal and committed member of the APC and will continue to work towards the success of the party at both the state and national levels.
