Odogbolu LG Chairman, Diya Orders Refurbishment of Police Patrol Vehicles to Boost Security

Odogbolu, Nigeria – In a swift response to a request from the Nigeria Police Force, the Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. (Dr.) Babatunde Oyetola Diya, has ordered the immediate refurbishment of a patrol vehicle for the Obalende Police Division to enhance security operations in the area.
The request was made by officers of the Obalende Police Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Akinwunmi Akingbehin, who sought the local government’s support to restore the operational efficiency of their patrol vehicles, crucial for crime prevention and community policing.
Hon. Diya promptly directed the Supervisor for Works and Housing, Hon. Oluwafemi Amusa, and the Head of Department, Works and Housing, Engr. Bamidele Shaffi Yusuf, to assess and carry out necessary repairs on the vehicle to ensure it is fully functional.
Emphasizing the importance of security, Hon. Diya stated, “The safety of our people is non-negotiable. A well-equipped police force is essential for maintaining peace and order. My administration will continue to support all security agencies within our local government to ensure a safer environment for residents.”
Officers at the Obalende Division praised the Chairman’s quick intervention, describing it as a demonstration of strong leadership and commitment to collaborative efforts in crime prevention.
The refurbished vehicle is expected to improve police response times, enhance surveillance, and contribute to safer communities in Odogbolu and surrounding areas.
