Abductors of man conveying brother’s corpse to Enugu demand N5m

Kidnappers are demanding N5m for the release of a man who was conveying the corpse of his brother to Enugu for burial.
The incident was said to have occurred on Saturday when the ambulance conveying the corpse was attacked at Benin bypass near Ahor in Benin.
The corpse was being transported to Enugu from Lagos for burial when the incident happened.
The younger brother of the deceased who was sitting in the ambulance conveying the dead was kidnapped while the ambulance was badly damaged.
Narrating the incident, Salami Orijiwa, the driver of the ambulance marked KRD 782 GO, Lagos number plate, said they left Lagos as early as 6am on Saturday in a bid to get to Enugu in good time.
“I quickly bent down inside the vehicle and that was how I lost control and veered into the bush and fell into a ditch. The bullet hit the driver in the vehicle behind me and he died on the spot,” he stated.
Orijiwa spoke at Ahor Police Station where the matter was reported.
It was gathered that the family were already negotiating with the abductors who are said to be demanding N5m as ransom before they will release their victim.
