YDM Launches Digital Media Icon to Boost Yayi’s Governorship Campaign

The Yayi Diaspora Movement (YDM) has unveiled a new media icon designed to galvanise support for Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan Yayi, the frontline governorship candidate in Ogun State. The initiative aims to consolidate the backing of the lawmaker’s supporters both at home and in the diaspora.

The digital asset, described by the group as a versatile branding tool, is intended for widespread use across social media platforms. Supporters can deploy the icon as a status update, profile picture on WhatsApp, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, and other digital channels. Beyond online use, the icon is also being adapted for physical merchandise, including clothing tags and branding materials, to serve as a unifying symbol for the campaign.

The media awareness drive is being promoted through the movement’s official media outlets, with coordinators emphasising the role of Nigerians abroad in shaping the political discourse back home.

Speaking on the launch, the convener of YDM, Hon. Olusola Adisa-Adunbarin, explained that the icon represents a strategic effort to keep the diaspora community connected to the electoral process. “This icon is more than just a digital image; it is a symbol of our collective resolve to ensure that Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan Yayi’s vision for Ogun State reaches every corner of the globe,” he said. “We want our people abroad to carry this banner with pride, knowing that their voice carries weight in the affairs back home.”

Echoing the sentiment, the global coordinator of the movement, Hon. Adekunle Adegoke-Sanjay, noted that the diaspora community is determined to make a tangible impact on the upcoming election. “Even though we are abroad, we want our impact to be felt back home. The YDM is leveraging this media icon to create a digital footprint that unites all lovers of Senator Yayi, ensuring that distance does not diminish our support or our contribution to Ogun State’s future,” Adekunle stated.

The YDM continues to mobilise supporters across various countries, utilising the new icon to foster visibility and solidarity for the governorship bid.
