Ogun-Oshun River Basin CEO, Ashiru Hails Governor Abiodun for Peaceful APC Congress, Congratulates Sanusi-Led Exco

ABEOKUTA – The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority, Engr. Dr Adedeji Ashiru, FNSE, has commended Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for ensuring a peaceful and transparent conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Congress held on March 3, 2026.

In a statement issued in Abeokuta, Engr. Dr Ashiru described the smooth electoral process as a testament to Governor Abiodun’s unwavering commitment to internal democracy, party supremacy, and the rule of law. He noted that the peaceful atmosphere that characterised the congress reflects the governor’s leadership prowess and his ability to unite all tendencies within the party.

“Governor Dapo Abiodun has once again demonstrated that he is a leader who places a premium on peace, unity, and democratic values. The seamless and harmonious conduct of the APC State Congress is a direct result of his inclusive approach and his dedication to ensuring that every stakeholder feels heard and valued,” Engr. Dr Ashiru stated.

The MD/CEO also extended his warm congratulations to Chief Yemi Sanusi on his re-election as the State Chairman of the APC, along with the 35 other newly elected State Executive Committee members. He described Chief Sanusi as a seasoned administrator and a loyal party man whose straightforwardness and honesty would continue to strengthen the party’s structure across Ogun State.

“I congratulate our Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, on this well-deserved victory. His re-election is a reflection of the confidence the party faithful repose in his ability to lead. I am confident that under his stewardship, the APC in Ogun State will witness greater cohesion, growth, and electoral successes,” he added.

Engr. Dr Ashiru, a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), urged the newly elected executives to remain focused on the party’s progressive ideals and to work tirelessly in support of Governor Abiodun’s vision for a greater Ogun State. He called on all party members to rally behind the new leadership and channel their energies toward the development of the state and the nation at large.

“As we move forward, unity must remain our watchword. The task of governance and party building requires the collective effort of all. I have no doubt that the Sanusi-led Exco, in collaboration with Governor Abiodun, will continue to advance the cause of our great party and deliver the dividends of democracy to the good people of Ogun State,” he concluded.
