Ogun Police Command Decorates 541 Officers Promoted to Assistant Superintendent

ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State Police Command has elevated 541 officers to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), in a large-scale decoration ceremony presided over by the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD.
The exercise, which took place on Monday, was carried out concurrently at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Area Commands, Divisions, and other formations across the state. The simultaneous nature of the event reflected what the command described as meticulous planning and coordination.
According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi B. Babayemi, the mass promotion is a recognition of the officers’ outstanding performance, discipline, and dedication to duty. It also underscores the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to merit and institutional integrity.
During the ceremony, CP Ogunlowo charged the newly elevated officers to uphold higher standards of discipline, professionalism, and accountability. He urged them to intensify intelligence-led policing to maintain the safety and security of Ogun State.
The Commissioner of Police also took a moment to express appreciation to the families of the promoted officers, acknowledging their support and sacrifices which enabled the officers to excel in their careers.
The statement noted that the elevation strengthens the command’s leadership structure and enhances its operational capacity. It serves not only as a symbol of recognition for hard work but also as a renewed call to higher responsibility and service to the nation.
