COVID-19: “Compel Ladi Adebutu To Make His Status Public”- Labour Party Writes Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The Ogun State Chapter of Labour Party (LP) has called on the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to compel former House of Representatives member, Hon. Ladi Adebutu to disclose his COVID-19 status.
News circulated on social media last week that, the former lawmaker representing Ikenne/Iperu/Remo federal constituency, Ladi Adebutu had gone for his COVID-19 test at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
Labour party in a letter signed by its State Chairman, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi and addressed to Governor Abiodun dated 27th April,2020 accused Adebutu of treating himself secretly at home.
The party said the call became necessary to avoid any situation that can rubbish the effort of the state government in combating the spread of the dreaded disease, coronavirus.
His words “This 1s a passionate appeal to your excellency as our State Governor on the need to be much more vigilant on the people reported to have Corona virus but h1d1ng the status and trying to secure treatment at home privately.
“To be afflicted with Covid-19 is not a death sentence but the primary concern of the Government should be how to successfully reduce the spread, more so as a result of some big-manism.
“It Is widely known that Hon Lad! Adebutu has done Covid-19 test at LUTH In Lagos through Information obtained from his aides and that has since Gone Viral on social media, but rather than disclose the result of his, he rather opted for a home – treatment and secrecy.
“The danger here is that, Hon Ladl Adebutu has lots of domestic staff. security details, friends and family who may be endangered by the secrecy and the hidden cov1d- 19 status of Hon Lad1 Adebutu who 1n the last few days been in a meeting with Engr Bayo Dayo the suspended ex Chairman of PDP who unfortunately appears on OGTV yesterday and Alhaji Semiu Sod1po also
