Ogun LG Chairmen Laud Gov. Abiodun Over Gift of Official SUVs

...Hail Gesture as Boost for Grassroots Governance, Reaffirm Commitment to Collaborative Development

The twenty Local Government Chairmen in Ogun State have expressed profound gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun for presenting brand-new Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to each of them.

In a letter of appreciation signed by the ALGON State Chairman, Hon. (Dr.) Folasade Adeyemo of Odeda Local Government, the chairmen described the gesture as a “thoughtful and timely” demonstration of the governor’s commitment to strengthening grassroots governance.

According to the letter dated 25 December 2025, the provision of the official vehicles is expected to significantly enhance mobility, improve supervision, and enable more effective service delivery, particularly in remote communities.

“This fulfilment of this pledge once again reaffirms the confidence and importance your administration places on Local Governments as a vital pillar of sustainable development,” the letter stated.

The chairmen acknowledged the state-wide infrastructural strides under Governor Abiodun’s administration, noting that this intervention highlights the importance of “sustained and impactful development at the Local Government level.” They also underscored the need for continuous collaboration in maintaining public infrastructure for long-term public benefit.

The letter further praised the governor’s “consistent fatherly guidance, steadfast support, and inclusive leadership style,” citing his hands-on approach and open-door policy as sources of inspiration. It credited the governor’s “Building Our Future Together Agenda” and “ISEYA mantra” for laying a solid foundation for progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and housing.

“The strong partnership your administration has fostered with Local Governments has enhanced service delivery and renewed hope and confidence among our constituents,” Hon. Adeyemo wrote on behalf of her colleagues.

The Local Government Chairmen reaffirmed their “unwavering loyalty, commitment, and readiness” to continue working with the state administration to advance public welfare and ensure Ogun State remains a model of good governance and sustainable development.

The letter concluded with a final thanks for the Governor’s “benevolence, inspirational leadership, and steadfast commitment to developing Ogun State from the grassroots upward.”
