Obafemi Owode LG Chairman Woos International Investors, Meets Dover Mayor to Boost Agricultural Ties

Dover, Delaware, USA – In a bid to attract foreign investment and promote agricultural development, the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government (OOLG), Amb. Adesina Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, held a strategic meeting with the Mayor of Dover, Delaware, USA, Robin Christiansen.

The discussion, which took place at the Mayor’s office, centred on fostering international partnerships to enhance mechanized farming, agro-allied businesses, and food security in Obafemi Owode—a key economic hub in Ogun State, Nigeria.

Amb. Ogunsola highlighted the local government’s vast agricultural potential and its strategic location bordering Lagos and Oyo States. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to modernizing farming practices in line with Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun’s agricultural vision.

“We are open to collaborations that will bring advanced farming technologies, create jobs, and ensure sustainable food production for our people,” he stated.

In a symbolic gesture, Mayor Christiansen honoured Ogunsola by appointing him as “Mayor of Dover for Five Minutes,” allowing him to preside over key deliberations. The council boss was also presented with a Silver Challenge Coin, granting him lifetime access to the Dover Legislative Chamber.

Accompanying Ogunsola were Col. Charles Adejoro (Rtd.), Hon. Desmond Olujimi (former Ogun State SA on Youth Development), and Jody R. Simundza, Executive Assistant to the Dover Mayor.

The visit marks a significant step in OOLG’s drive for global agricultural partnerships under Ogunsola’s leadership.
