NUJ Secretary, Adigun Congratulates Kurunmi of Ijaye-Egbaland on First Anniversary

ABEOKUTA – The Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, has congratulated Aare (Prof.) Lái Lábodé, the Kurùnmí of Ìjàyè-Ègbáland, on the occasion of his first anniversary on the throne.
Adigun, who described himself as a proud son of Ìjàyè with ancestral roots in both the Oladosu Compound and the Anigbio Compound, commended the traditional ruler for what he termed a year of purposeful leadership, unity, and remarkable development in the ancient town.
In a congratulatory message made available to journalists, the NUJ secretary noted that the monarch’s first year in office has brought significant transformation to Ìjàyè, fostering renewed hope, increased visibility, and a stronger sense of pride among indigenes both at home and in the diaspora.
According to him, the reign of Aare Lábodé has elevated the status of the community, projecting Ìjàyè-Ègbáland as a town of excellence and immense potential.
“Within just one year, Kabiyesi has redefined traditional leadership through visionary service, unity, and community development. His reign has placed the name of Ìjàyè far beyond where he met it and has inspired confidence among the people,” Adigun stated.
He further praised the monarch’s accessibility, wisdom, and commitment to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Ìjàyè while embracing modern development initiatives.
Adigun noted that the traditional ruler’s leadership style has earned him widespread respect across Egbaland and beyond, adding that his administration has promoted peace, inclusiveness, and a sense of belonging among sons and daughters of the community.
“As journalists, we appreciate leaders who understand the importance of truth, dialogue, and community engagement. The reign of Aare (Prof.) Lái Lábodé reflects these values and continues to foster unity and progress within Ìjàyè-Ègbáland,” he said.
He prayed for continued divine guidance, sound health, wisdom, and longevity for the monarch, expressing optimism that his reign would usher in greater peace, unprecedented development, and lasting prosperity for the community.
Adigun congratulated the Kurùnmí of Ìjàyè-Ègbáland on the milestone anniversary and wished him many more successful years on the throne.
