We are ready to sacrifice, make true leadership -Tinubu
While All Progressive Congress (APC) faithful are waiting for the party to inaugurate members of its presidential campaign council and roll out activities in full gear after Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) removal of embargo on parties’ campaigns, the ruling party’s Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu, has expressed that both himself and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, are ready to sacrifice whatever that require of them to give Nigerians good leadership they desire, and the ones they have long been yearning for.
He said that the sacrifice from the team would be about making difficult decisions in demonstrating that Nigerians are wise, by favoring reasons over sentiments, an indication to show that the country had learned from past mistakes.
Speaking through a statement tagged “Message to Nigerians” released by the presidential candidate’s media team on Wednesday, to lift moods of supporters and APC members’ already anticipating for campaign kick-off, Tinubu reiterated that campaign would be taken across communities, nooks, and crannies of Nigeria with their plans on security, economy and best future that would start unfolding as soon as they get into office, come 2023.
He said: “I invite all Nigerians to join me and HE Senator Kashim Shettima on this exciting and important journey as we set our shared vision of Renewed Hope for the people of our dear country, Nigeria.
“We will, in the weeks and months ahead, be taking our dream of a functional, safe, secure and prosperous Nigeria to every part of Nigeria and we will continue to put forward our plan to lead this country towards its best future”, he added.
While emphasizing on why Nigerians need to believe in the APC presidential’s team and join them on the journey, Tinubu indicated that the country cannot afford to get it wrong and that the ruling party would better utility both human and material resources in keeping the country on greater glory with new thinking, innovative ideas, and vision.
“Our nation stands at a threshold of history. We, like almost every other nation in the world, face significant challenges. Some have been of our own making, others, the consequences of factors well beyond the control of any Nigerian. However, one thing remains certain- we cannot afford to get this one wrong.
“We must show that we have learned from the mistakes of the past. We must be prepared to make difficult decisions. We must be wise, we must be discerning, we must choose progress. We must favour reason over sentiment.
“I am prepared and ready, with my running mate, to provide the leadership that will inspire our country to greater glory with new thinking, innovative ideas and vision. I call on all Nigerians to please join us”.
