Imo Gov., Uzodimma Releases N114m To Oil Producing Communities

The Imo State Government under the leadership of Hope Uzodimma, has released N114 million counterpart funding for the Waltersmith Petroman Ltd. projects across the oil producing communities.
In agreement of a memorandum, the Imo State Government through the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), after series of meetings mandated money should be disbursed to other projects that will in alleviating the sufferings of residents of the state through Oil Companies Operating in the areas by electrification of the communities
Part of the projects includes the provision of adequate security of lives and properties in the area and to this, security check posts, operational vehicles and other necessities to facilitate an improved security network in these areas.
According to press release obtained by our correspondent, in Abuja, His Royal Highness, Eze Emmanuel Assor, the Eze of Assa Autonomous Community who handed the Patrol Vehicles over to the Imo State Police Commissioner through the DPO Ohaji, thanked the Executive Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, for releasing the Money and assured the Governor of the total support of Ohaji People.
Recall that the Managing Director, ISOPADEC, Chief Charles Orie, had last week reiterated that there will no longer be a cash cow for few individuals as the commission is poised to put in place legacy projects for the good of all as mandated by His Excellency the distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.
It is worthy to note that all the contractors executing all the projects which the WaterSmith money are being used for, are indigenous contractors from the communities where the projects are sited and were all nominated by the community stakeholders.
