Ifo LG Boss, Delano Commends Gov. Abiodun On Sports Development

Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Kikelomo Aridunnu Delano, the Executive Chairman, Ifo Local Government, today 13th December, 2022 commended the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR on his efforts in sports development in the State.

She stated this at the Local Government Secretariat when the Council contingent at the just concluded 2022 Ogun State Governor’s Cup for Primary School football teams came on a visit to showcase the Governor’s Cup as well as other awards won by the team in the football competition.

Hon. Delano appreciated the State Governor for the initiative and his continous efforts to boost the morale of the pupils in the State. She congratulated the team for making the Local Government proud in the competition with the promise to provide befitting kits for the team for use in future competitions. She, however, presented cash gift for their sterling performance.

The 2022 Ogun State Governor’s Cup final match took place on Monday 12th December, 2022 at the State capital, Abeokuta, where the Ifo Local Government team engaged Imeko Afon in a thrilling encounter. The Council representative defeated their counterpart from Imeko Afon Local Government by a lone goal. The team equally won individual awards, that included: Best goal keeper which was won by Aina Moses and Most Valuable Player won by Musbau Ahmed.

Responding, the National Association of Primary School Games and Sports Teachers, Ifo Zone Chairman, NAPSGAST Anwalimobor Michael, commended the Executive Chairman, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Kikelomo Aridunni Delano for her support financially and morally for the team which served as the needed tonic to excel at the keenly contested competition. He equally thanked the Ogun state Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR for providing the platform for the children to showcase their talents.
