EXCLUSIVE: Buhari approves the decamping of my followers from APC -Amosun

Amidst growing reports of his flirtation with some other parties in Ogun State, the Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has told supporters that President Muhammadu Buhari has granted him permission for his preferred governorship candidate, Hon. Abdul Kadir Adekunle Akinlade and his 26 consensus candidates for House of Assembly to decamp from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

At a meeting hosted by Amosun at his ABEOKUTA residence yesterday, Amosun assured his supporters of his “winning formula” saying he had President Buhari’s support.

Our reliable source quoted Amosun as saying that:”I went to the President and told him that Akinlade (Hon. Abdukadir) and the 26 House of Assembly candidates will go to contest in another party and the President said no problem”.

Just yesterday, the Chairman of Labour Party in Ogun State, Mr. Abayomi Arabambi, said on a live radio programme monitored in Abeokuta that his party is finalizing talks with Governor Amosun and that the governorship candidate of the Labour Party will be picked from Ipokia Local Government. Amosun’s protégé, Hon Akinlade hails from Ipokia Local Government in Ogun State.

The controversial Arabambi, who spoke on a radio programme tagged ‘Fact Finder’ on Sweet FM 107.1, confirmed ongoing talks between his party and the Amosun-led faction of APC. He explained that the party was still within the constitutional right to substitute the name before the electoral umpire’s deadline.
