Dignitaries Celebrate Justice Jumoke Adewole’s Elevation to High Court Judge

ABEOKUTA, NIGERIA — A host of dignitaries gathered on Sunday in Abeokuta to honour Justice Jumoke Adewole, the former Permanent Secretary recently elevated to a Judge of the Ogun State High Court. She was celebrated as a consummate public servant whose career has been defined by diligence, empathy, and integrity.

At a special reception held in her honour, speakers, including Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya; Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Adijat Adeleye; and Justice Olanrewaju Mabekoje, among others, praised Justice Adewole’s virtues. They described her elevation from the Bar to the Bench as well-deserved, noting her as a seasoned officer who, throughout her service, upheld the ethics of her profession and demonstrated a passion for excellence.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, in her remarks, described the former Permanent Secretary as a loyal team player who remained steadfast to the ethics of the civil service. She highlighted that Justice Adewole’s tenure was marked by excellence, a strict adherence to the rule of law, and an unwavering commitment to service delivery, without any blemish.

Attendees, while recounting their individual encounters with her as a Director in the State Ministry of Justice and later as Permanent Secretary, expressed confidence that she would bring the same dedication, wisdom, and fairness to her new role. They added that she would be a valuable asset to the State Judiciary.

In her response, Justice Adewole thanked the dignitaries for celebrating her and assured them that their glowing tributes would inspire her to greater diligence in discharging her judicial duties. She pledged to uphold the principles of fairness, justice, and equity while remaining a source of pride to the state. She also acknowledged the contributions of colleagues, mentors, and family members to her professional journey, stressing that diligence and hard work remain the enduring keys to success in public service.

The reception was attended by a wide array of guests, including members of the State Executive Council, the State House of Assembly, judges, the Body of Permanent Secretaries, top government functionaries, market women leaders, and other well-wishers from various sectors.
