AMORAN Boss, Sokoya Welcomes President Tinubu to Awujale’s 8-Day Fidau Prayer

Ijebu-Ode – The Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN), Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, has extended a warm welcome to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of his expected attendance at the 8-day Fidau prayer for the late Oba Sikiru Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebuland, who passed on at the age of 91.
The prayer session, scheduled for Sunday, July 20, 2025, will hold in Ijebu-Ode as part of the final rites for the revered monarch, whose reign spanned over six decades.
In a statement, Otunba Sokoya described President Tinubu’s planned visit as a “heartwarming gesture of respect and solidarity” with the people of Ijebuland and Ogun State at large. He praised the President for honoring the memory of the late monarch, who was not just a traditional ruler but a national icon of wisdom and development.
“We are deeply honored that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be joining us to pay his last respects to our father, the Awujale, whose legacy remains evergreen. His presence underscores the unity and reverence our nation holds for our traditional institutions,” Sokoya stated.
He also commended Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his efforts in ensuring a befitting burial arrangement for the late monarch. “Governor Abiodun has shown exemplary leadership in coordinating the transition rites, and we appreciate his commitment to giving Kabiyesi a dignified farewell,” he added.
The Fidau prayer is expected to be attended by dignitaries from across the country, including political leaders, traditional rulers, and prominent Nigerians who shared a close relationship with the late Awujale.
As preparations reach their peak, security has been tightened in Ijebu-Ode to ensure a smooth and peaceful event.
May the soul of Oba Sikiru Adetona rest in perfect peace. Amin.
