EDO 2020 – Report reaching Newsacross.com has it that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has emerged the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) faction believed to be loyal to National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
The re-election bid of Governor Godwin Obaseki may have hit the rock as another governorship aspirant of All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, emerged the party’s candidate for the next gubernatorial election in the state.
The Nation reports that Ize-Iyamu, a former Secretary to Edo State Government (SSG), emerged the candidate of the party on the night of Tuesday, May 26, in Abuja through a consensus arrangement.
Newsacross.com gathered that the Ize-Iyamu, a pastor of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) was presented by chairman of the screening committee, Senator Francis Alimikhena, the representative of Edo North senatorial district.
The report said that other members of the screening committee were a former Edo deputy governor, Lucky Imasuen; General Cecil Esekhaigbe; ex-speaker of Edo House of Assembly, Thomas Okosun; former minority whip of the House of Representatives, Samson Osagie; ex-member of the House of Representatives, Patrick Obahiagbon, and the current deputy leader of the House of Representatives, Peter Akpatason.
