ASELGON Ready to Contribute to Nigeria’s Democratic Growth – Asipa

The National President of the Association of Ex-Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ASELGON), Hon. Albert Asipa, has stated that members of the association possess vast experience and expertise that can significantly contribute to the growth and development of Nigeria’s democracy.

Speaking at the virtual inauguration of the ASELGON Media and Publicity Committee on Wednesday, Hon. Asipa emphasized the unique responsibility of the association’s members to offer their services whenever called upon. He noted that the depth and spread of their experience make them invaluable assets to the nation’s democratic process.

Hon. Asipa, a former Chairman of Imeko/Afon Local Government in Ogun State, urged the newly inaugurated committee to approach their assignment with a sense of duty and commitment. He expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to project the activities of ASELGON effectively, both locally and internationally, given the members’ proven track records and dedication to the association’s ideals.

In his response, the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee, Hon. Frank Ilaboya, thanked the ASELGON leadership for the opportunity and described the initiative as progressive and visionary. He assured the association that the committee would work diligently to justify the confidence placed in them and ensure that ASELGON’s activities are well-publicized.

Hon. Ilaboya also praised the Executive Council for its careful selection of committee members, noting that the choice reflected a high level of sincerity and purpose. He pledged that the committee would strive to uphold the association’s image and fulfil its mandate effectively.

Other members of the committee include Hons. Bode Agbeleye (Vice-Chairman), Iro Njobali, Oliver Wubon, Destiny Enabulele, Bako Zamwawozayi, and Mr. Oladele Ogunsola, the Media Consultant to the association.

The inauguration of the Media and Publicity Committee marks a significant step in ASELGON’s efforts to enhance its visibility and impact in Nigeria’s democratic landscape.
