Rinsola Abiola Commends President Tinubu for Signing Maritime University and NCDC Bills, Hails Commitment to Equity and Development

In a significant step toward national development, President Bola Tinubu has signed into law the Nigerian Maritime University Bill and the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC) Bill, marking a milestone in the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The move has been widely applauded by stakeholders, including Rinsola Abiola, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership, who praised the President for his unwavering commitment to equity and regional progress.
The establishment of the Nigerian Maritime University fulfills a long-standing aspiration of the Niger Delta region. The institution is expected to serve as a center of excellence for maritime education, equipping Nigerian youth with specialized skills and creating job opportunities in the sector. It is also anticipated to stimulate economic growth, enhance Nigeria’s maritime capabilities, and strengthen the country’s position in global maritime affairs.
Similarly, the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC) is set to address infrastructural and economic challenges in the North-Central region. The commission will focus on driving sustainable development, improving the quality of life for residents, and fostering economic growth across the region.
In a statement, Rinsola Abiola commended President Tinubu for his visionary leadership and dedication to balanced regional development. She also lauded the collaborative efforts of the National Assembly and stakeholders who played key roles in bringing these initiatives to fruition.
Abiola emphasized the importance of community engagement in ensuring the success of the NCDC, urging citizens of the North-Central region to actively participate in the commission’s programs and projects. She expressed confidence that these initiatives would contribute to a more equitable and prosperous Nigeria.
“Together, we can build a nation where our hopes are renewed and a more equitable, prosperous Nigeria for all,” Abiola stated.
