Abeokuta North LGA Shakes Up Revenue Collection with Contractor Terminations
In a move to overhaul its revenue collection system, Abeokuta North Local Government announced the immediate termination of all current contracts and service providers for Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) on Friday, December 6th, 2024.
The decision, outlined in a statement by Director of General Services and Administration Mrs. Funmilayo Soberu, follows a crucial management meeting. The terminations aim to enhance efficiency and transparency in revenue collection processes within the local government area.
“This measure is part of the present administration’s efforts to ensure a more organized and accountable revenue generation system,” Mrs Soberu explained. “It will also foster sustainable economic growth for Abeokuta North.”
The statement urges all affected contractors to return relevant documents to the offices of the DGS&A or the Director of Finance and Supplies without delay.
