President Tinubu Appoints Former Youth Leader, Ismaeel Ahmed as Executive Chairman of PCNGi

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Barrister Ismaeel Ahmed as the Executive Chairman of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi).
Ahmed, a former National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will oversee the initiative aimed at mitigating the impact of fuel subsidy removal by providing Nigerians with cheaper, more affordable, and cleaner energy alternatives.
The PCNGi is a key component of the Tinubu administration’s palliative intervention programme, designed to ease economic hardships and promote sustainable energy solutions.
A 45-year-old legal practitioner and public administrator, Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Abuja (2005) and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006 after completing his studies at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja.
He further obtained a master’s degree in International Relations, Communications, and Diplomacy from Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri, United States, in 2008.
Before his new appointment, Ahmed served as Senior Special Assistant to former President Muhammadu Buhari on the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) from 2018 to 2022.
His wealth of experience in public administration and social intervention programmes is expected to drive the success of the PCNGi in delivering accessible and eco-friendly energy solutions nationwide.
