Whistleblower’s house set ablaze in Ogun

Tragedy struck in Obada-Oko area , a suburb of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital as arsonists set ablaze the residence of One Mr Adekunle Akinniyi, an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, attached to anti pipeline vandalism in the State.

According to an impeccable source, it was revealed that some people whose identity are yet to be ascertained, at the time of filling this report, had invaded the Federal Housing Estate in Obada area of the State around 8:33 yesterday morning set his house on fire.

It was gathered that Mr Adekunle and his team had reportedly foiled repeated efforts to vandalise pipelines in several areas around Ikorodu and ogun state borders.
Several investigations revealed that the informant had repeatedly lodged official complaints about threats to his life and kids but no protection had been offered.

Adekunle and his wife have three teenage girls with their last child being less than two years old. Their whereabout is unknown and is obviously a traumatizing experience for the family.

Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Mr Ogbonnaya Dyke confirmed that the said officer is a team lead of anti pipeline vandals who has been performing wonderfully well in the discharge of his duties, assuring that the Command will investigate the matter and bring the Arsonists to book, in due course
