A hat trick against Deportivo gives Messi a league-leading 32 goals and moves him past Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah

Leo Messi scored three goals in Sunday night’s La Liga clincher at Deportivo La Coruña, moving him past Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and back into first place in the race for the European Golden Shoe.

Messi’s hat trick gives him 32 goals in La Liga this season, one more than Salah has scored in the Premier League.

Messi’s hat trick was also the 30th of his career in La Liga and his 41st for FC Barcelona across all competitions. He has now surpassed the 30-goal plateau in the league for the seventh season in a row, something that has never been done before by any player.
