The Chairman, Transition Committee, Odeda Local Government, Hon Semiu Bola Lawal has charged residents of the Council area to be vigilant and report to the appropriate authority, anything they feel can jeopardise the security of the people.
Hon. Lawal gave the charge on Thursday 21st January, 2021 during the peace and security meeting he held with security agencies, traditional rulers and other stake holders at the Council Secretariat.
According to the Council helmsman, the issue of security should not be seen as the responsibility and left in the hands of security agents alone, but that of a collective responsibility. He, therefore, encouraged the traditional rulers and residents to alert the appropriate authorities when they notice strange faces or events in their domain.
Hon. Lawal, however, expressed his appreciation to all the security agencies at the meeting for their prompt responses whenever crime is reported within the local government area. He also promised his support to the agencies at all times.
The meeting had in attendance representatives of the Nigerian police, DSS, Immigration Service, NSCDC, So-Safe Corps and the TRACE as well as members of the Executive Council and Principal career officers of of the Local Government.
