Sango-Ota Councillor, Joel Okeodebija Moves Motion to Clean Up Local government
Hon. Joel Okeodebija, the representative for Sango Ward, has taken proactive steps to address the growing environmental concerns in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government. During a recent legislative session on November 28, 2024, he moved a motion calling for immediate action to clean up the area, particularly Sango-Ota, a prominent commercial hub.
Hon. Okeodebija expressed deep concern over the increasing levels of dirt and pollution in the area, stating that it tarnishes the image of the local government. He emphasized the need for swift action to restore the cleanliness and beauty of Sango-Ota.
To address the issue, the lawmaker requested that the Director of Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation appear before the legislative council to provide explanations and solutions. The motion was seconded by Hon. Akapo Isaiah and unanimously approved by the council members.
The legislative council has issued a notice to the local government’s Environment Department, directing the Director to appear at the next session to address the council’s concerns and present a comprehensive plan to improve the local environment.
