President Buhari hands over Ganduje’s daughter in marriage
President Muhammadu Buhari has handed over in marriage Hajiya Fatima, daughter of Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The president stood for the bride, while the National Leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinibu stood for the groom, Alhaji Idris Abiola Ajimobi.
Senator Tinibu paid N50,000 dowry on behalf of the groom who is also the son of Oyo state Governor, Alhaji Abiola Ajimobi.
The marriage was contracted by the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi ll, while the Chief Imam of Kano, Professor Sani Zaharaddeen blessed the union with special prayers.
The wedding Fatiha took place today at the Kano central mosques, Emir’s palace by 12pm.
Daily Trust on Sunday observed that 22 serving governors, Senate President, Alhaji Abubakar Bukola Saraki and 11 serving ministers as well as Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abba Kyari have attended the wedding.
The Chief Imam of Kano state, Professor Sani Zaharaddeen said the union between the children of the two governors would promote unity among Hausa and Yoruba tribes.
On his part, former Governor of Kano State, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau urged both the groom and bride to always be patience with one another, saying “Patience is a key of successful marriage.”
