Olumide Osoba Commiserates With Lafenwa Tanker Explosion Victims

The Chairman, House Committee on Sports Development,Hon. Olumide Osoba, has commiserated with families of those that lost their loved ones and properties to the early morning tanker fire that occurred at Oju Irin area of Lafenwa in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Oju Irin Lafenwa formed part of Hon. Osoba’s Federal Constituency.
A tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit(PMS) popularly called petrol had overturned on Sunday after bumping into road median and spilled the contents all over the road.
Shortly after it fell, balls of fire and thick smoke erupted, sending people scampering for safety but the inferno caught two persons – a mother and her child, burning the two beyond recognition in the process.
Also, dozens of makeshift shops and an ancient market were said to have been affected by the inferno which broke out as some residents were trying to scoop fuel from the overturned tanker.
Reacting to the incident in a release made available to Newsacross.com and signed by his media aide, Hon. Olumide Osoba expressed shock and sadness over the unfortunate incident that occured in his constituency, saying every life is precious and prayed the good Lord to comfort the bereaved and grant them the fortitude to bear the painful and irreparable loss.
The Federal lawmaker who represents Odeda, Abeokuta North and Obafemi – Owode Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, charged the emergency responders – National Emergency Management Agency, Federal Fire Service among others to expedite action towards ameliorating the plights of people affected by the inferno.
He also appealed to the relevant agencies and authority to put preventive measures in place to avert future occurrence.
