Okorocha congratulates his successor; would Senator Ibikunle Amosun ever do?

By Comrade Olufemi Nuberu

To those who are avid followers of political evolvement, especially during the last general elections, it would be difficult to mention Ogun state without referencing Imo state with respect to the shared political restiveness associated with the beleaguered postures and stances of the then governors of the States; Senators Ibikunle Amosun and Rochas Okorocha, Ogun and Imo States governors respectively.

They both took their states by jugular, became the constitution of their party, APC in their states with all forms of banalities and lawlessness. The directives of their party’s National Working Committee (NWC) were trampled upon by both and they constituted themselves into stumbling blocks to the success of their party elections in their states.

The peak of their connivance was eventually reached when they both sponsored their political godsons is separate parties from theirs( APC) yet, maintained their membership of APC.

In a scenario that can be coined, PIT, ( Poliical Identical Twins) they both contested for Senatorial seats of their Districts and both won. They were both suspended from the party for gross misconduct and reinstated on the same day.

Perhaps, the realisation of this prompted Senator Okorocha to embrace peace, chose the path of honour and congratulated his successor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, but would Amosu who defiantly sustain his belligerent posture, well rooted hatred and acrimony for his successor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, ever do?

A common parlance says, wise men often change their stance when confronted with reality of the moment, but does everyone do? Time would tell……
