Ogun PDP Faces Challenges Ahead of LG Polls, Aggrieved Members Allege Bias and Mismanagement

The Ogun State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is facing internal conflicts that may impact its preparedness for the upcoming Local Government elections in November. Aggrieved members have expressed concerns about the leadership of the caretaker committee, chaired by Hon. Dada Awoleye, citing bias, failure to address contentious issues, and allegations of corruption.
The members claim that the chairman and secretary, Barr. Paul Ogunnubi, have not adequately reconciled aggrieved members, a key aspect of their duties. They also allege that the chairman is focused on personal gain, including contesting the House of Representatives bye-election in Oyo state.
A stakeholders’ meeting held on August 21, 2024, was criticized for lacking representation from all factions, raising questions about the legitimacy of the reconciliation process.
The aggrieved members are calling for the National Working Committee (NWC) to remove Hon. Awoleye and Barr. Ogunnubi from their positions to prevent further crises within the party. The situation highlights the challenges facing the Ogun State PDP ahead of the Local Government polls.

*Ogun PDP is far from ready for LG polls – Aggrieved members*
The People Democratic Party in Ogun State is far from putting their house in order in preparation for the November Local Government Polls. This is because the Chairman of the caretaker committee Hon. Dada Awoleye, and his secretary Barr. Paul Ogunnubi, are not here to reconcile aggrieved members, which is one of their primary duty, but rather are here to enrich themselves.
1. The caretaker chairman is biased and has failed to address any of the contentious issues that brought about his appointment in the first place
2. Himself, the secretary, members from Osun State stay at ParkInn hotel belonging to Ladi Adebutu’s father.
3. The chairman has failed in all ramifications to reconcile the PDP aggrieved members in the state.
4. In fact, the Ogun state caretaker committee under the chairman is executing an “undertaker” job.
5. The chairman is openly corrupt, dishonest, and greedy because he is looking for money to contest the House of Representatives bye election in Oyo state.
6. We are calling on the NWC to sack him and his secretary to prevent further crises in the Ogun State PDP.
At the stakeholders meeting held on Wednesday, the 21st of August 2024, the so called Stake holders meeting was indeed a mirage.
1. How can you claim to have reconciled aggrieved members when they are not present in that meeting.
2. What kind of reconciliation has just one faction in attendance, leaving others out
3. Why are other caretaker committee members not allowed to aired their views in the whole saga. And finally
4. Why is the chairman always seen frolicking with Hon. Ladi Adebutu.
We, the aggrieved members of The People Democratic Party (PDP) Ogun State Chapter, are calling for the immediate sack and sanction of Hon. Awoleye and Barr Ogunnubi in order not to escalate the political crisis in Ogun State PDP further.
