The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijebu East Local Government said it has commenced the process of reconciliation among party members, flag bearer at the forthcoming Chairmanship Election, Hon. Wale Adedayo, and other former aspirants for the position of Council Chairman.
In a statement signed by Caretaker Chairman of the local government,Otunba Balogun Adebayo and made available to Newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital.
He said ‘the meeting attended by major party leaders and members of the Local Government Caucus of the party was held at the Ijebu Ife residence of our leading leader, High Chief Segun Osibote, the Aloron of Ijebu Ife.
‘At the meeting that lasted for about two hours, all former aspirants present at the meeting openly expressed their support for Hon. Wale Adedayo and pledged their commitment to the success of the party at the July 24, 2021 elections.
“Meanwhile, the meeting resolved that the candidate and some leaders should reach out to one of the former aspirants who was the only one absent from the meeting.
“As the reconciliation efforts continue, the party has not fixed any date, time or venue for any celebration, as we see that as premature. We therefore disassociate the party and our candidate from any of such planned celebration for now.
“We urge our members to remain steadfast and wait for further directives, he concluded
