Ogun First Lady, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun Organises interdenominational Prayers for Peace and Security in Nigeria

Ogun state women, across religious divides, on Friday poured out their hearts to God in prayers for the soul of Nigeria and against of insecurities and retrogression.

The prayer session was organized by Ogun state First lady, Her Excellency Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, is on behalf of Nigeria which has been in a state of unrest amid dire security challenges.

According to her, She sees women as the pillars of the society therefore brought women from all walks of life together to jointly raise their voices as one in prayer.

The well-attended event held at MTR Hall,Presidential Lodge , Ibara Abeokuta, also witnessed rain of prayers against the spirit of insecurities in Nigeria, which has sent many promising Nigerians to their early graves.
Speaking during the programme, the first lady of ogun state Mrs Bamidele Abiodun was optimistic that all the prayers tabled before God would receive speedy answers.

She said it could be done individually but collective efforts through fervent prayers that can put an end to the challenges.

She therefore challenged Nigerians irrespective of position and religious affiliation to do the right thing to rescue the country from its woes.

Also speaking, Alhaja Oloto, governor office Mosque, Oke mosan also stated that what Nigeria needs in this critical point of its existence was prayers and supplication to God for the grace for Nigerians to see that the myriads of challenges been experienced are overcome. She read her text from surah fatiha.

“We have prayed and the revelations we received are indicative of the fact that Nigeria shall experience and unimaginable level of peace and unity now and in the years ahead.”

Earlier in her messages, The wife of Christian Association of Nigeria’s chairman Ogun state chapter, Rev. Mrs Akin Akinsanya read her bible passage from 2 chronicle chapter 7, 12-14.

She believed that with prayers, commitment on the part of government and the people, the wave of killings, kidnappings, herdsmen attacks and banditry would be surmounted.

She said the peace, security and unity of the country must be placed above personal and sectional interests, as keeping Nigeria safe and united was a task for all its citizens.

Dignitaries at the event are Alhaja Salimat Badru, former deputy Governor, Pastor Mrs Funmi Adesegun wife of former deputy governor, Rt Hon. Titi Oseni Gomez, former speaker of Ogun state Assembly, Mrs Bolanle Oluomo, wife of Ogun state speaker, Head of service, Alhaja Otun, Mrs Funmi Afuwape, Commissioner for women Afairs, Pastor Mrs Adewuyi , Mrs Oloto,governor office mosque and other important personality.
