Amosun with BuhariDetails of President Muhammadu Buhari’s meeting with Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State on Sunday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, emerged on Monday as sources said the president gave the embattled governor a stern warning to desist from anti-party activity in the state, or face the wrath of the party.

It was gathered that the President, who frowned at the governor’s anti-party activities even after emerging as the Senator-elect of the party, told Amosun pointedly that he would not be able to come to his rescue should he decide to confront the party further.

“Mr. President warned him that he cannot afford to lose the governorship election in Ogun State, with Dapo Abiodun as Governor, as Ogun is also the home state of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo,” the source added.

Without mincing words, President Buhari told the governor that he expected total loyalty from him to the APC, adding that he should learn to sacrifice his personal desires in the interest of the party.

It is not know whether Amosun, known for his classic stubbornness will heed the warning of Mr. President. One thing that is sureis that, the suspension. Of Amosun was with the approval of the President. The President also will not intervene on his behalf with the party hierarchy.
