Odeda LG Chairman, Folasade Adeyemo, Begins Second Term with Free ITN Distribution

Odeda Local Government Area (LGA) has begun its journey towards a malaria-free community, thanks to the efforts of its re-elected Executive Chairman, Hon. (Dr) Adeyemo Folasade. She kicked off her second term in office by launching the free distribution of Insecticide Treated Nets (ITN) to all households in the area.

The initiative, which commenced on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, and will run until November 23, 2024, is part of the National Malaria Elimination Program. Hon. Adeyemo Folasade expressed gratitude to the people of Odeda LGA for re-electing her and promised improved governance and democratic dividends.

Earlier in his remarks, Rt. Hon. Daisi Elemide, Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, urged residents to consistently use ITN to prevent malaria infections, while commending Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun for his tireless efforts in rebuilding the state.

Mrs Ebere Eze, SFH Officer, reassured that the nets are free, safe, and effective in protecting families from mosquito bites.

Dignitaries in attendance included HOLGA Dr. Adekoya A. O, Mrs Olubiyi Division Officer NSCDC, Odeda LG, and Mrs Nelson Babafemi, Nutrition Officer.
