The newly crowned king of BBNAIJA season 5 show, Olamilekan AgbelesebiOba popularly known as Laycon has made the youth of our State proud, through his display of enthusiasm, brilliance, maturity, humility and exemplary omoluabi, displayed while in the house.
Our energising support for Olamilekan Agbeleshe; Laycon wasn’t a sign of joblessness, but a deliberate act, because whatever is worth doing at all, is worth doing well.
This 26 year old Ogun State born intelligent guy, drew many people, including parents to watch him, since his dexterity is second to none.
According to the theory of existence, no individual can live in isolation of others. Hence, at some points, we all need credible people, to lean on, people who believe in our ability, without prejudice, and that was what the youths in Ogun State did for him selflessly, afterall we would not share in the money he won.
This first class graduate of the prestigious University of Lagos diversified, when the life he had pictured wasn’t forthcoming, through academics. The frustration of lack of encouragement from appropriate quarters, had forced so many students cum graduates, to involve in so many bad acts, like kidnapping, rituals, internet fraud, among others, while some had even taken it to the level of suicide or money-rituals. But Laycon chose to rewrite his family’s economic power using his God’s given talents, while participating in the Big Brother House and as such, changed the negative opinion, people once held about the show.
And in the last few weeks, our mobilization for Laycon, especially the walk, made some perceived “public saints” to subject the participants and their participation to ridicule.
I wonder how these critics forgot, that everyone is entitled to his opinion, and in airing one’s opinion, a morally dished person should talk, without polishing words or abusing people. For emphasis, the importance of entertainment, cannot be over-emphasized, in any sane society, because so many people are depressed, and entertainment is the only escape route to depression. Infact, entertainment had taken so many young people out of poverty and suicide.
When Laycon emerged winner of BBNaija Lockdown Season 5 yesterday, we jubilated and decorated social media, with words of happiness. He is now a role model to many youth of the Gateway State.
Surely, his win is ours, since he is a son of the soil.
I hereby urge our youth, to stand out in their endeavor and be rest assured, that we will always support them, in as much they are not involved in a criminal acts capable of soiling their image and that of our dear state.
