Ipokia Local Government Extends Warm Felicitations to Republic of Benin on 65th Independence Anniversary

The government and people of Ipokia Local Government, Ogun State, have extended warm congratulations to the Republic of Benin on its 65th Independence Anniversary.
In a goodwill message, the Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh, highlighted the deep historical, cultural, and linguistic ties between Ipokia and Benin, particularly among the Ogu and Yoruba-speaking communities along their shared border.
Hon. Avoseh noted that he was formally invited to the national celebration in Cotonou, describing it as an honour reflecting the strong bilateral relations between both territories. However, due to prior official commitments tied to Ipokia’s development agenda, he was unable to attend. In his absence, he conveyed his best wishes for Benin’s continued progress.
Reaffirming Ipokia’s commitment to peaceful coexistence and cross-border cooperation, the Chairman called for enhanced collaboration in trade, agriculture, security, and youth exchange programmes. He emphasised that such partnerships align with the ISEYA development agenda of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, particularly in infrastructure and social welfare.
The message also resonated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises regional integration and grassroots development.
The Republic of Benin marked its 65th Independence Anniversary with nationwide celebrations, underscoring its unity and progress.
