Int’l Widows’ Day: Ogun First Lady, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun assures widows in Odeda LG better days

As Ogun State joins the rest of the world to celebrate International Widows’ Day, Wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun , on Thursday , assured widows in Odeda Local Government of the Abiodun administration’s commitment to providing a better livelihood and ensuring they benefit from other dividends of democracy.

Mrs Bamidele Abiodun who was represented by the wife of the Chairman Odeda Local government, Mrs Bola Lawal stated this while distributing food items household materials and cash gift to widows in Odeda Local Government headquarter, Odeda.

She further stated that the present administration prioritizes their needs and would continue to put in place measures to make life devoid of grief and more meaningful for them.

In addition, wife of the current House of Assembly member, representing Odeda state constituency, Mrs Elemide urged the widows to be courageous and not be physically and emotionally exhausted by their griefs, adding that the “government will not relent in protecting their rights.”

Ealier in his remark, The Transition Committee Chairman, Alh. Semiu Bola Lawal enthused and thanked the gestures of Her Excellency, Mrs. Abiodun for supporting the widows, while urging them not to give up; being widows do not mean that is the end of life, posited that this is the reason the government is always on their feet to assist them in every facet of their challenges.

Present at the occasion were the former House of Representative Member in Odeda, Abeokuta North and Obafemi Owode, Hon. Isreal Ogundipe, All Transition Committee members of Odeda Local government.
