Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria Ushers in New Leadership

LAGOS – The Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria (GPBN) has inaugurated a new executive council following a nationwide electoral process marked by robust participation and keen competition.

The newly elected officers, sworn in at a recent handover ceremony, are:

· National President: Damilare Bankole
· General Secretary: Mutiu Adesina Okediran
· National Treasurer: Angela Davies
· Director of Communication: Abiola Alaba Peters

The immediate past President, Chris Kehinde Nwandu (CKN), presided over the transition. In his farewell remarks, he charged the incoming council with upholding the highest professional ethics and steering the guild in the collective interest of all members.

In his inaugural address, President Damilare Bankole thanked the membership for their mandate and outlined key priorities for his tenure. These include enhancing member welfare, amplifying the guild’s influence within the Nigerian media landscape, and promoting unity among digital content creators.

Bankole also called for solidarity, extending an olive branch to fellow contenders in the election. “I appeal for the collaboration and support of all stakeholders as we begin this crucial work,” he stated, expressing optimism for the guild’s future.

The new President affirmed that under the refreshed leadership, the GPBN is poised to enter a “new chapter of growth, innovation, and strengthened professional standards.”
