“DROP YOUR WEAPONS, TAKE UP TOOLS” AS OKEOWO OLASUBOMI SET TO ENGAGE OGUN EAST YOUTH AGAINST CULTISM.

A renowned security expert and technological guru Hon Okeowo Olasubomi has promised to end cult related violence in Ogun East via dialogue and youth empowerment pprogram.
He made this known at the launch of the Ogun East Boys football and vocational academy.
“It is no news to anyone familiar or living in Ogun state that cult related activities have come to stay. Residents of Ogun state, particularly the Ogun East senatorial districts live in fear daily.
Occasional violence erupts with no fewer than 10 people being killed at every time such occurs. Our ladies are raped, harassed and threatened weekly.
And this is not supposed to be. We cannot grow as a people if we continue to have negative vices like this around us.
This is what made a renowned security expert and technological guru Hon Okeowo Olasubomi taking it upon himself to lend a voice and helping hand in putting an end to the violence across different towns affected.
Earlier in her remarks, the Secretary of GOOD Foundation, Mrs Folasade Ogunbanwo resolved to help our youth across the towns comprising of Ogun East district in training them, and helping them get access to meaningful education or desired businesses.
“We all know it’s not easy in our nation now. But with the help of God and our father, the able Governor Dr Dapo Abiodun, we have seen considerable improvement in the last 2 years across our state. This is why Mr Okeowo also have decided to step in and lend a helping hand to our youth who are willing to drop weapons and take tools.
“We will reach out to several of them in their hundreds, show love and help each other as a family. This is not politics but humanitarian gestures at its best. Hon Okeowo however promised that every arm and ammunition bearing youth will be appeased and appealed to. We have set up a periodic training institute that will train about 15000 youth every year in different vocational areas of technology.
“We are presently offering solar engineering trainings, customer care, computer and printer repairs, Gas technologies, and agro products. Our women are also being empowering with tailoring and embroidery vocational skills. We hope to reach about 2million indigenous citizens by the year 2023.
Okeowo stated that his foundation will train youths in technology that will enable them manufacture paints, and road/street patching techniques as obtainable in advanced countries.
“My office have written to technical colleges around the country. We will place our youth in this colleges to learn and get experts in different fields to teach them.
“Some of them can now begin to write to the goverment nationwide and offer their services for a fee. Okeowo while handing over a fully customised bus shed to the Ogbogbo community reinstated that many youth in our senatorial district lack mentorship. And when we who are given the grace to mentor do not do that we should do, then the society will become what it should become to the detriment of all.he concluded
