A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory to thoroughly investigate Senior Pastor, Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi; Musician Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, David Adeleke otherwise known as Davido, woman activist, Aisha Yesufu, Deji Adeyanju, lady musician, Tiwa Savage and 45 others in connection with the promotion of EndSARS Protests that shook Abuja, Lagos and parts of the country in October.
Sam Adeyemi, Damini Ogulu, David Adeleke, Aisha Yesufu, Deji Adeyanju, Tiwa Savage and 45 other notable persons were alleged to have promoted the #EndSARS movement which as further alleged, incited and instigated some riotous and tumultuous persons to egregiously destroy the property of a private citizen and activist, Kenechukwu Okeke, in Abuja.
The order was given by a Magistrate, Omolola Akindele, following a criminal complaint brought before the court by Kenechukwu Okeke, where he alleged that while the riot lasted, his properties were destroyed, demanding that the defendants who promoted the #EndSARS protests must be brought to face justice.
The magistrate gave the police two weeks to investigate the matter and send its findings to the court for proper adjudication.
The letter written by the court registrar and addressed to the CP, reads in part: “I am directed by the Presiding Chief Magistrate II, his worship, Hon. Omolola Tolulope Akindele, sitting at Chief Magistrate Court 2, Wuse Zone 6, FCT Abuja, to write to your office to investigate the above-mentioned case and report back within two weeks for proper adjudication of the case.”
