Breaking: Ogun Assembly sets up committee to probe allegations against deputy Speaker

The Ogun State House of Assembly has set up a Five-member committee to probe allegations against the Deputy Speaker, Hon Dare Kadiri and report back to the house within 72 hours.

House stands adjourned till Thursday, 4th March, 2021 after Executive session at 11am.

Kadiri was accused of leading suspected hoodlums to invade the residence of the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, in Oru Ijebu, Ijebu North Local Government Area of the state.

The Deputy Speaker was also alleged to have led thugs to invade the residence of a former legislator, Adebiyi Odugbesan.

He was detained for about two days at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Kadiri was said to have accused the SSG and Adegbesan of hoarding the registration materials for the ongoing APC registration.

The police had invited all warring factions from the local government but detained the deputy speaker after hearing from all parties concerned.

It was gathered that the deputy speaker, who was held for about 48 hours, was later released on self-recognition
