Breaking: Many dead in fuel truck explosion in Ogun

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced that a fuel tanker explosion at Lagos -Ibadan express way part of the Ogun state on Thursday Morning left “several people dead and seriously burned”.

The explosion,which occurred at Araromi Town before the Interchange, is causing traffic gridlock.

Some motorists close to the scene, it was learnt, have scampered to safety.

The second fatal accident involved a container truck that fell on a car at the diversion end of Iyana Eruku, Berger Bridge axis Itori Ewekoro.

Although the number of casualities was not known as at the time filing this report, Newsacross.com confirms that the incidents immediately attracted the presence of rescue agencies including TRACE, FRSC, Ogun State Fire Service, POLICE and NSCDC, managing the situation to prevent escalation of the unfortunate incidents presently at the scenes.

FRSC advised motorists to make use of alternative routes to avoid unnecessary delay.

“The rescue operation is still on and people involved yet to be confirm because a bus is also involved.

The crash scene cordoned off to avoid secondary crash, traffic has been diverted,” the commission said.

The commission also urged motorists to remain calm and cooperate with traffic managers managing the situation.
