Babatunde Diya Emerges as APC Chairmanship Candidate for Odogbolu Local Government

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Odogbolu Local Government has chosen Chief (Dr.) Babatunde Diya as its flagbearer for the November 16, 2024, local government elections. This decision was made through a consensus among party leaders, from state to ward levels, and was well-received by delegates from wards 1-15 who gathered at the APC LG secretariat in Odogbolu Town.

Dr. Diya, son of national hero and Asiwaju of Odogbolu, Late General Oladipupo Diya, boasts an impressive track record of community service. As chairman and founder of the Doctor Tunde Diya Foundation, he has sponsored numerous initiatives focused on free healthcare, educational empowerment, and environmental beautification across Odogbolu local government area. Additionally, he serves as president of the Odogbolu Community Development Council.

Prominent figures in attendance at the declaration of his candidacy included Honourable Ladejobi Shuaib, former local government chairman; Hon. Atinuke Bello, former House of Assembly Chief Whip; Ms. Sola Arobieke, SSA to the governor; and Hon. Yetunde Adesanya, APC Southwest Zonal Women Leader. The APC Odogbolu party chairman, Akogun Muyiwa Idowu, presented the party flag to Dr. Diya.
