Amosun, Ogun East APC elders’ meeting over governorship ticket, deadlocked

A meeting convened by Governor Ibikunle Amosun with Ogun East APC elders over the party’s ticket for the state’s 2019 governorship poll, has ended in a deadlock Rock City Radio reports.

AmosunThe meeting coming up days after a similar meeting with Ogun West elders took place at the Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan in Abeokuta.

Rockcity Fm news gathered that the Ogun East APC elders opposed the decision of the Governor, that the APC ticket should be zoned to the Ogun West.

The governor’s position tallied with that of the State Executive Committee of APC, which Amosun said, had been communicated to the national secretariat of the party, in Abuja.

The Ogun East APC elders, during the Tuesday night meeting, it was gathered, insisted that all the APC governorship aspirants from all the zones should be allowed to contest for the ticket at the party’s primaries.

The fresh disagree is coming a month to the party’s primary election on September 15.

One of the elders, Chief Olusanya Daudu, speaking after the meeting, said that decision is yet to be taken on the zoning of the ticket. Governor Amosun speaking to newsmen after the meeting said that Ogun East APC leaders stated their position at the meeting, while he explained to them the resolutions of the party on the governorship ticket.
