ABEOKUTA – The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Afrograms Abeokuta Old Students’ Association (OSA) has announced a change in the leadership of its national secretariat, following the resignation of its National General Secretary.
Dr Babatunde Soaga has formally resigned from the position of National General Secretary, citing health-related concerns. The resignation notice was received by the NEC in the early hours of Saturday, January 3, 2026, according to a statement issued by the National Public Relations Officer, Engr. Tajudeen Oketokun.
In his resignation, Dr Soaga explained that his current health condition could adversely affect his ability to effectively discharge the demanding duties and responsibilities of his office. He expressed gratitude to the NEC and the entire Association for the opportunity to serve, noting his contributions in various capacities over the years. Dr Soaga also reassured members of his continued support for the Association despite stepping down from office.
Following this development, the NEC has moved swiftly to ensure administrative continuity. The Council has directed the Assistant National General Secretary, Mr Kamorudeen Adegbokiki, to assume office as the Acting National General Secretary. This appointment is pending the selection of a substantive office holder in line with the Association’s constitution.

In his new acting capacity, Mr Adegbokiki will oversee all secretariat operations and official correspondence of the Association. Members have been advised that all matters relating to the Secretariat should henceforth be routed through his office.
The National President of the Association, Barrister Taofeek ‘Bola’ Shittu, assured members of the NEC’s continued dedication to selfless service and the overall progress of the Association and its Alma Mater.
