BREAKING: Former Delta Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan Reportedly Dies
Former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has reportedly died, according to sources close to his family who spoke to SaharaReporters on Monday.
The sources reportedly confirmed his death, although details surrounding the circumstances and timing of his passing remained unclear as of the time of filing this report.
“Uduaghan is no more; he is dead,” one of the sources was quoted as saying.
The reported development comes months after the former governor’s family dismissed rumours of his death that circulated on social media in June.
At the time, Uduaghan’s media aide, Henry Unini, debunked the reports, assuring the public that the former governor was alive and receiving medical attention.
“I can tell you for a fact that Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan is alive,” Unini said in response to the rumours.
The media aide acknowledged that the former governor had been experiencing health challenges but maintained that he was receiving proper medical care and recuperating.
“There is no cause for alarm whatsoever,” he had said, while appreciating friends, well-wishers and residents of Delta State who contacted the family to verify the reports.
Uduaghan, a medical doctor by profession, served as governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015. Before becoming governor, he served as the state’s Commissioner for Health and later as Secretary to the State Government.
As of the time of filing this report, further details surrounding the reported death had yet to emerge.
