AMORAN Chairman Sokoya Hails Governor Abiodun’s ‘Historic Leadership’ as Ogun APC Adopts Senator Yayi for 2027

The Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) has showered praise on Governor Dapo Abiodun, describing his leadership as “historic” following the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) adoption of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) as the party’s consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election.

In a statement issued on behalf of the association’s State Executive Councils, AMORAN Ogun State Chairman, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (Danku), described Monday’s development as an epoch-making event that transcends partisan politics.

“What we witnessed on Monday transcends partisan politics; it is a moral compass reset for the leadership of our dear state,” Sokoya said.

The AMORAN chairman noted that as members of the organised transport sector who traverse every corner of Ogun State daily, they have firsthand witnessed governance under Governor Abiodun. He lauded the governor for piloting the state’s affairs with “a rare blend of courage, equity, and fairness.”

Sokoya further hailed the governor’s action as a demonstration of “the true essence of an Omoluwabi,” stating that the decision has changed the trajectory of politics in the state and given the people of Ogun a profound sense of belonging.

“You have given us a name and an administration that we—the members of AMORAN and the broader community of transporters—will be proud of forever,” the statement read.

The association also congratulated Senator Adeola (Yayi) on his adoption, reaffirming its unwavering loyalty to the Abiodun administration. Sokoya pledged that AMORAN would mobilise its members across all 20 local government areas to support the vision of a greater Ogun State.

“Under your watch, the relationship between the government and the transport unions has been redefined by mutual respect and partnership,” he added.

The adoption of Senator Yayi as the APC consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship race signals a major political realignment in Ogun State, with transport unions like AMORAN already positioning themselves as key allies in the campaign ahead.
