Ogun Police Arrest ‘Traffic Robber’ Along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway

Ogun State Police Command says it has arrested one Blessing Adedeji suspected to be member of robbery syndicate that specialized in robbing commuters of their belongings along Lagos/Ibadan expressway.

According to the Police spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspect was arrested by policemen on surveillance patrol of Magboro area of the expressway led by the DPO Ibafo division, SP Abiodun Ayinde.

Oyeyemi said the suspect was sighted by the policemen in the traffic gridlock occasioned by the construction work going on, attacking the occupants of a Toyota camry car with knife and succeeded in dispossessing one Mosurat Ologundudu of her Techno camon-12 phone valued at #48,000 and purse containing cash sum of #3,000.

He said on sighting the policemen, the suspect took to his heels but was chased and apprehended.

The robbed items were recovered from him and released to the owner.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Special Anti-Robbery Squad for discreet investigation.

The CP therefore assured commuters plying the road of adequate security at all time.
