The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun has called for improvement in the areas of electricity generation, security and fight against corruption by the Federal Government, as Nigeria marks its 60 years of independence.

The state Publicity Secretary of the party, Tunde Oladunjoye, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abeokuta on Thursday.

Oladunjoye, while reacting to President Muhammadu Buhari’s 60th independence anniversary speech, said that he (the president) had done a lot in the area of infrastructure and ensuring peaceful coexistence in the country.

He also noted that the nation had witnessed tremendous development under the leadership of Buhari, adding that adequate security and continuous fight against corruption would further strengthen the nation.

On electricity, Oladunjoye noted that with constant power supply, small and medium scale enterprises would be encouraged and this would pave way for more job opportunities in the country.

“Mr President’s speech is that of inspiration, reality and speech of a statesman. The president has rededicated himself to continuous quality service for the country.

“He has identified the challenges facing the country realistically in terms of falling oil revenue, economic crisis, created and worsened by the pandemic and security challenges.
